How are you staying physically active and maintaining fitness during the winter break?
For me I have been mostly running and stretching hoping to avoid any injuries when the season restarts as I had a few small muscular issues towards the end of the first half of the season.
Are there specific aspects of your game that you're focusing on improving during this break?
Again for me stretching is a big one as I really want to focus on staying injury free between now and the end of the season.
How do you balance relaxation and staying in peak performance mode during the winter break?
Our winter break is very long so we have some time to relax and cool off. Many of us are international players as well so we go home over the Christmas break. During this time I think it is just important to get as much cardio in as possible so when we come back training we can focus on football as much as possible instead of just trying to raise the fitness levels before the season restarts.
Any favourite winter activities or hobbies you enjoy to unwind off the field?
For me I don't have any hobbies that I associate with the winter break but this year I do want to go skiing. I have never been and it's always been something I wanted to do during the winter.
Have you set any personal goals for the second half of the season?
During the winter in Prague it gets very cold and the streets are often icy so I do more treadmill work rather than running outdoors and as mentioned before I try to focus more on stretching during this period also to prevent injury when we are back training.
Are there any particular matches or opponents you're looking forward to facing after the break?
Yes, I want to play the teams at the top again because if we want promotion then these are going to be our best chance to claw back the points that we are behind. Of course I really enjoy all of the Fenix trophy games as well like going to Helsinki in the first half of the season and travelling to Bucharest for our away match in the second half of the season.
