Match Preview: Raptors vs. FCPK 'B' (Friendly)

Author: Stan Chetin

This Sunday, 22nd of July at 6pm, we will be playing another friendly game. The game will be against FC Přední Kopanina B, which is currently playing in the 1.B třída/sk.A.

Football club FC Přední Kopanina was founded in 1934. Since its establishment, it has brought together all the enthusiastic supporters of football in the village of Predni Kopanina, which is situated near Ruzyne airport.

The club gained more importance and popularity in the early 80s, when it has gradually gained place in the highest division – Prague City Championship.

The team has even reached the inter- regional tourmanents in the 90s. Thanks to its successful history, FC Predni Kopanina became the most important football club in Prague 6, not only professionally but also socially.

As we can see the club has very rich history and it is gonna be a tough match for us. But we have an advantage of our home field! So we are really waiting for support from our families, friends and all members of our community.

Head Coach Jon Davies had this to say in our pre-match press conference:

"We have had to deal with quite a lot of disruption in recent weeks with players disappearing for their summer holidays but our work hasn’t stopped.

Momentum is key even at this early stage of preseason and it’s been a great opportunity for the players that have stayed in Prague over the summer to push on in terms of their preparation for our inaugural season.

The fixture list was released recently and that’s made it more real as we head into the final few weeks before the real business begins.

As a club we can’t wait to start the season and these next two friendly games against tough opposition from higher divisions represent a great way to test our mettle and to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead.

Furthermore, the next two fixtures provide ample opportunity for players to stake their claims for inclusion ahead of the upcoming campaign as places are still very much up for grabs.

Up the Raptors!"

The Squad list for today's match is below:
