This season has been very challenging for our players. We are a new team and the girls are still learning how to play with each other. We have been a bit unlucky with goalkeepers being injured since the beginning of the season, but even with all these challenges the girls surprised us and improved a lot in so many ways. We are in 5th place in our league at the moment and over all I think we’ve done a great job as a team.
Our aim this season is to keep the good performances from the last games and help increase the team confidence. Me and Coach Simone D’Andreta agree that if our players keep improving at this speed then we can aim to be on the top 3 of the League and fight for the promotion.
Our major aim / goal is to raise awareness that football is for everyone no matter your gender. We want women to stop being afraid of playing football and want them to know that we support them and they will always feeling welcome in our team.
We are surprised with the way our players connected with each other, we have maybe 14 different nationalities in our team and the players became friends and respect each other no matter what. We are proud to say that we have seen players that never met before and now they became best friends.
We are happy with the overall improvement of the team but we are particularly surprised with the fighting spirit and positive attitude of the players. This season we trained non-stop during winter while it was snowing in negative temperatures and the players still attended to the training sessions and never complained. We are proud to say that our Ladies team is not only a great football team, but also a family.
